Married; After forty years of marriage I lost my first wife to cancer.
My present wife, Betty, after 42 years of marriage lost her husband to
a heart condition. Betty and I met and we have been happily married for
eight years. Our extended family consists of five children, twelve grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
Education:
Three Forks High School in Three Forks, Montana. College courses at Montana
State University, College of Great Falls, and Idaho State University.
Certificates of Completion for Management by Objective 1 and Management
by Objective 2, University of Utah. Certificate of Completion in Concrete
Technology course at Master Builders Laboratories, Cleveland, Ohio. Business
and business law courses at International Correspondence School.
Occupation:
Fifty years of work in the construction industry. 1948 to 1959 lumber
and ready mix concrete sales and management positions with Monarch Lumber
in various locations in Montana. Manager, Western Ready Mix 1959 to 1960,
in Burley, Idaho. Sales and management positions from 1960 to 1977 in
Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and Boise with Monroc, Inc. aka Ready to Pour
Concrete, RTP Concrete. Monroc, Inc. was a manufacture of concrete aggregates,
ready mix concrete, prestress concretes and participated in turn key construction
projects. Management positions with construction firms from 1977 to 1998
when I retired. At the time of retirement, I was Western Division Manager
for Antigo Construction, Inc. The Western Division covers eleven western
states.
Civic
Involvement: Jaycees, President Shelby, Montana Jaycees; Vice
President Montana Jaycees. Kiwansis Clubs Shelby, Montana, Burley, Idaho
Falls, and Twin Falls, Idaho. Legislative Committee Member for Associated
General Contractors Idaho Branch, Idaho Motor Transport Association, and
Idaho Ready Mix Concrete Association during the 1970's. Member of Ada
County Planning and Zoning Commission in the 1970's. Past member of the
Ada County Sheriff's Posse, Captain in 1979. Past 4H leader.
Other:
In the 1970's the Ready Mix Concrete Companies and management personnel
in the Treasure Valley were indicted by the United States Justice Department
for price fixing. Six companies and nine individuals were indicted. The
charges against the individuals were misdemeanors. I was one of the nine
individuals. All firms and individuals plead nolo contendere and the case
was settled in Federal Court. Additional information is available upon
